Uncle Bacala’s Italian Seafood and More - Authentic Italian Dining in Garden City Park, NY

Randomly went here for a late lunch on a weekend. The food ended up being so good brought my whole family back later in the week. A very wide selection of Italian cuisine and everything we had was delicious. Beef carpaccio is one of my favorite dishes and this place, executes it perfectly. The vodka parm is great - the sauce is creamy and there is just enough pasta to make you feel full and take home half the parm. The cotton candy before dessert was a wonderful surprise. Will definitely be coming back.

We recently decorated for a bridal shower for a client at Uncle Bacala's and it was an absolutely perfect day from start to finish. The lovely atmosphere of the restaurant was the ideal backdrop for such a special occasion. The team at Uncle Bacala's truly went above and beyond to make the event memorable. The private space was beautifully decorated, and they were so accommodating with all of our requests, ensuring every detail was exactly as we had envisioned. If you're looking for the perfect place to host a special event, especially a shower, I can't recommend Uncle Bacala's highly enough. They truly know how to create a lovely and unforgettable experience.

We are at Bacala’s right now for the first time. The spicy mussels are amazinggg, perfect sauce to dip your bread in! Super cozy and festive Christmas ambiance. Definitely coming back here!

Came here for a birthday lunch (with a friend) and had a great experience overall. The staff was exquisite—very attentive, constantly refilling drinks and clearing dishes. Our waiter was okay, but the manager/hostess really stood out. She was thoughtful about where she seated us, knowing a large party was expected, and made sure we wouldn’t be bumped or disturbed, which I truly appreciated. For an appetizer, I ordered the baked apple salad, and it was so good—the apples and cranberries complemented each other perfectly. I had the penne vodka with chicken for my entrée; the portions were generous and definitely did not disappoint (I even had leftovers to take home). For dessert, I had the cheesecake, which was also excellent. The staff sang “Happy Birthday,” and at the very end they brought out cotton candy in a shot glass—such a fun and creative touch. To top it off, one of the co-owners came over at the end of the meal to ask how everything was and was extremely polite, which really added to the overall experience.

If I could legally marry a restaurant, Uncle Bacala’s would be getting a ring and a very emotional proposal. The food? Fresh like it was plucked straight from Poseidon’s pantry and then kissed by an Italian nonna. Every bite was a flavor explosion that made me question every past life decision involving microwave dinners. The portions were filling like, “I may need a nap in the parking lot” filling. And just when I thought the meal couldn’t get any better, BOOM—they hit us with cotton candy for dessert. COTTON CANDY. I wasn’t ready. My inner child cried tears of spun sugar joy. Our server, Eliana, was an absolute gem. So friendly. So helpful. So on point. Highly recommend. Would eat here every day

This is a gem surrounded by stones.the best calamari I've had so far on long island. Fresh, soft and fried to perfection, a must have at this place. The marinara is excellent. The shrimp risotto had fresh shrimp in it and a hearty amount of them. The stuffed rigatoni didn't last more than 3 minutes being that it was so good ! The fried bacala was perfectly fried and delicious. We were very happy with everything we had. I can't wait to come back and try some more dishes.

Today I took my son Dylan to Uncle Bacala’s in Garden City Park, and I can’t believe it took us five years of living out here to finally try this place. The food was absolutely exquisite—every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. From the appetizers to the main course, and even dessert and cappuccinos, everything exceeded our expectations. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Harmon, our server, was phenomenal and on top of every single detail throughout the entire meal. He made sure everything flowed perfectly, from our apps to the main course and dessert, and his attentiveness really stood out. The atmosphere and overall experience made me feel like I was back in the city enjoying a great night out. We were incredibly impressed, and after this visit, I can confidently say we’ll definitely be becoming regulars.

Uncle Bacala's has been one of my family's go-to restaurants for delicious Italian food for as long as I can remember! Last August, I had my bridal shower at Uncle Bacala's and was truly blown away by the food, service, and hospitality. Peter, the owner, has always been so kind and welcoming to my family -- he made us feel very comfortable hosting our party there. Eva, the party manager & coordinator is so incredibly kind -- she is the sweetest! She was very accommodating throughout the entire planning process and on the day of the shower itself. Eva took the time to help us make excellent selections and I so appreciated her detail oriented touches, such as creating a special party menu that matched my floral theme. I am so grateful to Eva for all of her help in making it an unforgettable event and I appreciate the way she continues to take care of us when she sees us. I have to give a huge shout out to our waiter, Harmon -- he is so kind and funny, we enjoyed having him as our waiter multiple times prior to our event. I was so happy that Harmon was one of the waiters at my bridal shower as he helped to make everything extra special and he worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone had everything they needed. We absolutely love going back to Uncle Bacala's for the market lunch and seeing Harmon on the outside patio. Thank you so much to everyone at Uncle Bacala's for an unforgettable event and thank you for continuing to treat us (and my dog!) like family.
